The Half Life Of Love

The Half Life Of Love

“The half-life of love is forever” ~ Junot Díaz, This Is How You Lose Her

The above sentence has been floating around in my head for a few weeks, ever since I read the final page of Junot Díaz’s book.  I think the inspiration is the only book review I need to do.  At least for today.

Sunday Quote, 2013, Week 6 Zelda Fitzgerald

Nobody has ever measured, not even poets, how much the heart can hold.

Matters of Heart

It seemed appropriate to take pictures of hearts today. This is a paperweight that I’ve had for years, given to me by my Valentine.

Heart of Glass

Shot at f8, 1/200, ISO400, 60mm f/2.8 Macro lens. Saturation and tint tweaked a bit to create the rainbow effect.

One of my favorite quotes:

Le cœur a ses raisons, que la raison ne connaît point. On le sent en mille choses.

Translation: The heart has its reason, which reason does not know. It is felt in a thousand things.

This is a wonderful story for Valentine’s Day, a son telling of the deep, abiding love his parents shared. There is a link to the audio version of the story, but you don’t want to miss the photos on the website!

Happy Valentine’s Day.
