Red? Or Pink?

Considered this for yesterday’s post but decided it was more pink than red. Are red and pink variations of the same color to you? If not, then why are dark blue and light blue the same color but violet is not?

I like the softness of the flowers juxtaposed with the vines and barbed wire in this photo.
